Abstract:
Modulation techniques are helpful to extract low signal from noise and to get rid of drifts. This led us to combine a UHV compatible chopper (F < 1 kHz), a low-noise electrometer and a gated digital lockin. The same components are used both for detectors and beam position monitors.
