Abstract:
We present measurements of resonant X-ray 4f scattering at the M-4,M-5-thresholds in Ce7Rh3 and CeRh2. These compounds are typical, respectively, of intermetallics with low and high hybridisation. The greater hybridisation is reflected in a stronger inelastic contribution when the excitation is above the Mg threshold. Also the Coster-Kronig M-4 –> M-5 conversion is stronger in the more hybridised system. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
